動物園で見つめる先に / (2022)
私が動物園という場所に関心を寄せるのは、「生き物が展示されている」という事実に依るところが大きい。
動物園では「種の保存」、「教育・環境教育」、「調査・研究」、「レクリエーション」という４つの役割を目指しており、生き物たちに対峙し続ける現代の動物園は、園内展示を通してその存在意義を示そうとしているようにみえる。
今回の展示では、園内に残る過去の動物園の痕跡や、現代の動物園の展示空間を撮影した写真、そして来園者へのインタビュー映像を上映しながら、動物園の中の「見る」ことについて考えてみたい。

Today's Zoos are aimed at four roles: "preservation of species," "education and environmental education," "research and study," and "recreation.
They continue to confront living creatures, and seem to be trying to show their significance through exhibitions in the park.This exhibition will show photographs of the exhibition space of the zoo, as well as video interviews with visitors, and will allow to think about "seeing" in the zoo.
